Deepfake Horror Movie/Contemporary Political Satire Trailer 'Caviar'

Caviar Trailer

"Trust no one." Check out this interesting independent film project from a writer named Jacob Michael King who is making his first film. Caviar is the title - described as a "satirical indie thriller about conspiracy theory", about deepfakes, social media and misinformation. Antigone Corday is an aspiring social media influencer. She mourns the recent death of her brother, Jeremiah, a well-known expert and voice for progressive causes. Soon, however, she uncovers a plot that challenges her worldview and the fate of the planet. Betsey Brown portrays Antigone, along with Al Warren, James Healy Jr. and Aaron Pruner. The director adds, "Caviar uses the language of conspiracy theory and disinformation to shine a light on abuses by authorities. Its far-fetched story is an amalgam of historical fact, wild speculation and pure fiction - it exaggerates the "lies, evasions, madness, hatred and schizophrenia" that make up our politics, and exposes them to the sun." Of course, let's see. If you're not confused yet: "Nothing in this trailer is true."

Here is the main official trailer (+ poster) for Caviar by Jacob Michael King, straight from YouTube:

"Western civilization is approaching a point where our shared narratives are collapsing. Soon no facts will be verifiable. Caviar is not designed to hasten this catastrophe, but to warn of its arrival… Caviar is also a weapon. This is satire, and satire should be dangerous. Like Dr Strangelove or “A Modest Proposal”, its aim is to provoke and disturb, using the dark humor of jet to draw attention to very real horrors - horrors that bad actors, elected officials and otherwise, would prefer to remain silent." –Director Jacob Michael King
