Owen wonders if Klopp will make a 'brave' move at Liverpool vs Arsenal

Michael Owen doesn't know if Jurgen Klopp is 'brave enough' to stay with the line-up that helped Liverpool beat Rangers on Tuesday,

The Reds bounced back from a disappointing 3-3 Premier League draw at home to Brighton on Saturday with a convincing 2-0 victory over Rangers in the Champions League.

A brilliant early free-kick from Trent Alexander-Arnold set Liverpool on course before Mo Salah converted a penalty after Leon King's clumsy second-half challenge against Luis Diaz.

Klopp changed from his usual 4-3-3 formation to a 4-2-3-1 setup against Rangers with Diaz, Diogo Jota and Salah all supporting Darwin Nunez in attack.

But Owen is unsure if Klopp will be 'brave enough' to try the same tactic when he takes on Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Owen told BT Sport: "I think he might think about going back. Fabinho - I love the guy, he's brilliant - but he was one of the poorest players.

"But I agree, I think it's really brave to put four against an Arsenal side that are flying at the moment but it will give him confidence in terms of thinking about the future. He has so many good attacking players in his team, it's just if he's brave enough."

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Fabinho will return for his clash against Arsenal.

Ferdinand said: "I think Fabinho is coming in and playing against Arsenal. In the defensive midfield positions he's fantastic, has been a mainstay, so I don't see him not coming in and playing. Having those four attacking players on the pitch tonight (against Rangers) was perfect I think Arsenal are a completely different proposition and I think they won't be able to play as freely and broadly as they did today ."

On Liverpool's overall performance this season, Ferdinand added: "It's not the same scenario at the moment, they don't have the same rhythm in the way they play. Confidence is not the even, there are players in there that you thought were untouchable in terms of people side by side in the tunnel.

"But at the moment teams are saying 'they're not in a good time, this might be the time to play Liverpool'. Players need to turn things around, over the last four or five years they have been the team with supreme confidence and it was only a matter of time if they were going to blast the teams."
