Opener Jonny Bairstow hit an undefeated 86 from 60 balls and Harry Brook hit a magnificent 67 from 36 as England went 198-4.

Fast bowler Gus Atkinson then took 4- 20 on his international debut as New Zealand slumped to 103 overall.

That victory gives England a 2-0 lead in the four-game series.

Brook and Bairstow in added 131 for the third wicket after England lost Will Jacks for 19 and Dawid Malan for a duck.

Leg spinner Adil Rashid finished with 2-18 and became the top T20 wicket taker in England.

Tim Seifert was the top scorer with 39, but Glenn Phillips' 22 were the only other contribution over 20 as England fell back. their overall win at Chester-le-Street with another dominating performance.

The series continues in Edgbaston on Sunday.
