Samar Vignals, product and brand director of Aubade, described the collaboration with the couturier as meeting of two universes, one "a meeting that was like sharing dedication to craftsmanship and to the customer", an "autonomous woman with a sense of luxury".

The conversations started with fabrics and continued with experiments with embroideries, Vignals said , resulting in pieces using geometric embroidery, offered in a "Naughty Black" colorway with gold thread and a delicate pink called "Love Affair". An Elie Saab logo adorned with golden zamac jewels completes each model.

"I've tailored each piece in the collection to be worn as a garment or under -garment," the couturier said, pointing to cut-out elements that blended "the universe of lingerie with that of ready-to-wear" through strategically placed elements that kept the idea of lace and transparency while remaining suitable for daywear.

This collaboration is also part of Aubade's desire to explore the territory between lingerie and rtw . Some pieces were designed to "complete the wardrobe," Vignals said, noting how underwear-as-outerwear trends saw bustiers paired with blazers or camisoles worn during the day with lace and sheer elements on bodies, bustiers and camisoles strategically placed to suit as day wear.

Aubade's previous collaborations have included capsules with fashion designers Christian Lacroix, Viktor & Rolf and, more recently, Iris van Son pen; the Karl Lagerfeld brand, the Chinese artist Hong Wai and the swimming champion Camille Lacourt for a men's swim line.

The Elie Saab x Aubade collection will be available from July in addition to the fall 2023 offer from lingerie specialist. Bra sizes will go up to G cup in some styles, while bottoms will go from XS to XXL. Loungewear will change from XS to XL.

Most of the line will be sold in the lingerie specialist's physical and online stores, as well as in its network distribution, with public prices ranging from 80 euros for a thong to 300 euros for the negligee of the nightwear range, with a set of two-piece underwear around 200 euros.
