Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has apologized for a photo of two topless women kissing at a party in her summer palace.

It added pressure on the 36-year-old leader following footage of her twirling with celebrity friends as she danced at a private party that put her lifestyle in the spotlight .

After being suggested to take drugs, she took a test which came back negative last Monday.

But now another image has started circulating on social media showing two well-known influencers kissing while exposing their breasts and holding up a 'Finland' sign from the prime minister's official residence in Helsinki.

Mrs Marin has now apologized for the photo which was taken at a party last July.

"In my opinion, the photo is not appropriate. I apologize. This kind of photo should not have been taken, but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary happened at the meeting ", Marin told reporters, confirming that the photo was taken at his home.

Ms Marin, who has made no secret that she was enjoying her free time, said the photo was taken at a private party with her friends after a music festival in July.

"We had a sauna, swam and spent time together," she said, describing the party at her beachfront residence.
