Forget exotic vacations like the Maldives and the Caribbean: if money was no object , an ideal Christmas because the British would be in a country manor.
This is according to a survey which asked them about the elements that would make up their Christmas day. Perfect Christmas, producing a ranking with 24 entries.
When asked to choose between a tropical destination or a staycation, two-thirds (66%) ) opted for the latter, with 26 per cent citing a country manor as the venue of their festive dreams, putting it fourth on the list, alongside Christmas cocktails.
Almost one in three want a private chef to prepare Christmas lunch (28 percent, common third), the same number would pay for someone to arrange a perfectly laid table (28 percent , common third), while more than a third (35 percent, second) would love to wake up to a thick layer of snow.
Of the 2 000 adults surveyed in the survey commissioned by the National Lottery, 24 per cent said a private cinema screen on which to watch Christmas films was a priority, putting it sixth in the ranking. /p>
