A two-year-old girl has died in a tragic paddling pool accident as a number of devastated family and friends pay their respects.

Hannah Kealy was playing in the pool when the accident happened near her home last Friday night.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and baby Hannah was taken to hospital by ambulance where medical teams worked tirelessly to try to keep her alive.

Despite all their efforts, Hannah unfortunately surrounded on Sunday by her parents, Marie and Denis, and her sister Ella.

The close-knit Laois community of Timahoe and Stradbally, Ireland, was devastated by his death, with tributes paid to the family at a Laois County Council meeting this morning.

As a mark of respect to the bereaved family, Gaelic football at Timahoe and St Joseph clubs has been canceled this weekend, the Irish Mirror reports.

Hannah, of Cremorgan, Timahoe, Co Laois, is also survived by her grandparents Margaret and John Cahill and Margaret and Tom Kealy.

It's with darling dog Ruben, aunts and uncles, Sharon, Orlaith, Brian, Kelley, Liz and Stephen, Aising, cousins ​​Shauna, Eve, Darragh and Conor.

Details of her funeral have yet to be announced and, in tribute, the Cloneen Hurling Club said: "Our heartfelt condolences to Marie, Denis and the Cahill and Kealy families on the very sad passing of Hannah, our hearts are broken for you all. and you are in our thoughts at this very sad time. rest in peace beautiful Hannah."

Another family friend added, "My deepest condolences on this heartbreaking news to Marie, Denis, Ella and all the extended families for the sad loss of dear and precious Hannah.

"She was such a beautiful little girl, and a joy to have known her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this incredibly sad time. May she rest in peace."

Another wrote, "No words can be spoken. Heartbroken for Hannah's parents and her sister Ella. All in my thoughts and prayers."
