A groom abandoned his bride-to-be on their wedding day after her mother interrupted the service because her daughter-in-law was too small and unattractive.

The groom - who was not named in local media - was reportedly ordered to dump his Tunisian bride after her mother saw her at the service for the first time.

It is understood that until the ceremony, the mother of the groom had only seen photographs of his future bride.

But when she saw her in the face and in the flesh, she would have ordered her son to stop the service because his fiancée was too "small" and "ugly".
