An anti-Brexit passenger confronted sun-seeking Michael Gove over his 'lies' at a Greek airport after being delayed for 30 hours.

Candida Jones, a former Labor councilor who works for a Labor peer, says months of chaos for British holidaymakers have been 'made worse' by Brexit.

The 50-year-old challenged the 'tanned' sacked Brexiteer Cabinet for 15 minutes in the baggage drop queue at Athens International Airport on Sunday evening.

Ms Jones, from south London, was due to return to Gatwick on Saturday - but Easyjet postponed her flight until 10.35pm on Sunday due to airport disruptions.

It is believed that Mr Gove, who was traveling alone after his divorce, was not on the same plane or stuck in the same delay.

Ms Jones told the Mirror that Mr Gove, whom she described as ‘polite but very passive-aggressive’, insisted the delays were not caused by Brexit.

Undeterred, she challenged him to name “opportunities” to leave the EU – to which he responded agricultural reforms and the rollout of the vaccine.

Ms Jones, who was on holiday with her husband and three children, told the Mirror: 'I said 'come on, that's just ridiculous. Nothing about being a member of the EU has in any way prevented us from rolling out the vaccine sooner.”

"I said 'you're a smart guy, and I know what you're telling me isn't true, and you need to stop treating Brits like we're stupid.'

She also challenged him over the £350m-a-week Vote Leave bus in the 2016 referendum and tried to 'go through some of the other lies'.

Ms. Jones' encounter spread like wildfire when she tweeted about it on Saturday night.

She said: "Almost 30 hours late on our @easyJet flight now.

"I'm told the problem is a lack of staff due to the pandemic compounded, in the UK's case, by #Brexit.

"So it's at least a consolation to find arch Brexiteer @michaelgove caught up in the same show s*** #BrexitChaos #BrexitShambles."
