Chilling video shows construction worker suspended hundreds of feet in the air as he hangs from a crane.

In the terrifying footage, the worker can be heard screaming as he hangs among the skyscrapers of Toronto, Canada.

Simply grabbing with one hand what looks like a very thin – almost invisible – piece of rope, the footage then pans to show pallets of building materials below it.

The gruesome footage that took place on Tuesday was shared on social media after it was apparently filmed by colleagues.

Onlookers who feared for the man's life can be heard shouting, "Wait!" to the man, as he waves his legs above the ground.
