An abandoned apartment has been frozen in time after its owner fled before the outbreak of World War II.

The Paris apartment has remained untouched for decades - with its eerie interior left exactly as its 91-year-old resident left it.

Images of the property in the ninth arrondissement of Paris even show a solitary Mikey Mouse toy left behind by former owner Mme De Florian.

After the dispute ended, Mrs. De Florian did not return to her home - with furniture and possessions left untouched for years - although Mrs. Florian unknowingly continued to pay the property's bills.

Layers of dust and grime now cover its treasures after years of oblivion in the hime located near a church in the ninth arrondissement of Paris, between the red-light district of Pigalle and the Opera, reports the Daily Star.

Once the hoard was unearthed, experts began cataloging its possessions, including works by 19th-century Italian artist Giovanni Boldini.
