Sitting on the other side of our compartment, our three-year-old daughter tilts her head and turns her face to resemble a skeptical Picasso while the Dutch countryside vibrates before our window.
I told him I was about to turn our seats into a bed, and we're going to sleep here on the train we just came from 'being caught in Brussels after a Eurostar journey from St Pancras International to London.
'No, we're not,' she said in disbelief . “There are no beds here.” Unfazed, I lower our three beds with a Debbie McGee gesture and watch her eyes widen.
Within moments, she presents an argument for being allowed to take the top bunk.
We take the train to Prague, a journey made much easier by the bohemian extension of the successful night service to Berlin via Amsterdam, and it promises to be great fun.
