"James Bulger's mother's request to keep killer Jon Venables locked up must be heard"

Venables has re-offended twice since being convicted of murdering the two-year-old in 1993 and Ms Fergus deserves better - having suffered so much, she shouldn't have to make him fight to have his concerns heard

It is hard to understand the agony that Denise Fergus has been through since the murder of her son James Bulger.

She now faces other torments. The Parole Board is preparing to decide whether or not to release his killer Jon Venables from prison.

Venables has reoffended twice since being convicted of murdering the two-year-old in 1993.

The Justice Secretary has the power to intervene to prevent his release.

Former Justice Secretary Dominic Raab had indicated he was ready to act, but Liz Truss fired him last month.

Despite repeated appeals to her successor Brandon Lewis, Ms. Fergus received nothing.

It wasn't until the Mirror discussed his plight that he agreed to a meeting.

Mrs. Fergus deserves better. Having suffered so much, she shouldn't have to fight every step of the way to have her concerns heard.

Kwasi Chaos

The Bank of England was again forced to intervene to prevent a market meltdown today.

He constantly has to act because of the chaos caused by Kwasi Kwarteng's mini-budget. The Chancellor's reckless plans have cost taxpayers billions, skyrocketed the cost of mortgages and left a crater-sized hole in public finances.

You would have thought that causing such damage to the economy and people's livelihoods would have been a dismissal offense.
