During a recent interview with CinePop, Majors was asked what he would draw inspiration from for his performance as Kang the Conqueror, a character who will essentially act as the next "big bad" in the MCU. According to Majors, he looked at a handful of past MCU villains, including Ultron and Thanos.

"It's funny, because I've been there and I've looked at Ultron, I've looked at Loki, I've looked at Thanos," Majors said. "And I had an idea, just for me, of what I wanted to bring to the MCU through Kang. And there's a certain requirement that has to happen. I think Ultron, Loki and Thanos, I think they would be the ultimate villains or anti-heroes. They all had very interesting qualities to them, and some of them shared qualities, which is just a necessity to take over. And so once I get them I took them out and put them in Kang soup, then I looked, 'What do we need for this period?'"

The majors also discussed what it means to be a "big bad" in this generation, and how, given that so many different people will be watching these movies, it's important to find a way to represent “so many things,” and connect with many.

“Our generation, what we represent, which is a great evil for us,” Majors said. “What are our children going to see? What will our partners see? What will our leaders see? What does our zeitgeist need, in quotes? What are we talking about? What is in the unconscious of our time? And Marvel has, in my opinion, the biggest entertainment platform. And so to bring in the big bad, the big bad has to represent so many things and has to be connected to so many things. So I read the newspaper, I looked at history books…I talked to people, I look at my child, I talk to my partner. What are we afraid of right now? What are we afraid of? Because Kang has to be… any great villain is a manifestation of our deepest insecurities as a society.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is scheduled for release on February 17, 2023.
