Sir Keir Starmer said he had a "tattoo on my forehead" that Labor would not make a deal with the SNP after the next general election.

Labour the leader has rejected any form of pact or coalition with Nicola Sturgeon's party in the event of a suspended parliament if his own party fails to secure a majority.

Sir Keir has also challenged the SNP on whether it would 'support Conservative Government' in case Labor struggles to form a government after the vote due in 2024.

"I know what will happen as we we are getting closer to the elections. There will be a lot of charts showing this number of seats, this number of seats," he told LBC on Monday.

"That's why I say outright - tattooing it on my front - no to dealing with the SNP," Sir Keir said.

The Labor leader added: "We are not borrowing seats from the SNP and crossing the line. No deal... We're not going to do it."

The Labor leader has been repeatedly asked about the prospect of striking a deal with the SNP or the Liberal Democrats, while the Tories are playing on the 'stitch-up' prospect.

His strongest rejection of any collaboration with the Scottish National Party, Starmer added: "The SNP will have to decide.

"If they want to bring down an incoming Labor government and support a Conservative government, then that's their choice, and that's what they'll have to sell in Scotland. Good luck with that one."

Ahead of the 2015 election, David Cameron's Tories fueled fears that Labour's Ed Miliband could be backed by Ms Sturgeon's SNP as part of a 'coalition of chaos'. The tactic has been used again ahead of elections led by Jeremy Corbyn.

The latest comments on hung parliaments come as centre-left pressure group Compass launches a tactical ballot campaign to oust Conservative MPs by 62 seats.

The Win As One campaign encourages voters to think strategically in dozens of seats described as a "progressive tragedy" because the combined progressive vote outnumbers right-wing parties despite Conservative wins.< /p>

Meanwhile Sir Keir accused the government of showing a "profound lack of leadership" during the strikes, but said the pay demand for nurses was "probably higher than what it was possible to afford".
