Lewis Hamilton reveals row with cops as Mercedes star tells him to 'f**k off'

Lewis Hamilton argued with police ahead of the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix. The Mercedes star joked that a female cop told him to 'fuck off' as he struggled to surrender in the paddock.

He made the revelation during a private conversation with Daniel Ricciardo filmed by Netflix's Driver to Survive. Smiling, Hamilton remarked: “How did you get in this morning? All the normal roads I normally take are all closed. »

Hamilton then begins to act out the scene, crossing his hands as he demonstrates the issues. He added: “The police were like 'No'. And I had all these fights with the police."

Hamilton burst out laughing before concluding, "There was this woman she looked like 'No f*** off'." Ricciardo simply replied, "Oh really" as the Aussie also started laughing.

It's not the first time Hamilton has had a run-in with authorities after an incident at the 2010 Australian Grand Prix. The ex-McLaren star was arrested by police in Melbourne because he does burnouts in his Mercedes C63 AMG.

Reports suggest Hamilton was upset and embarrassed by the situation, with the F1 legend later apologizing. At the time Hamilton said: 'I was driving exuberantly and as a result I was pulled over by the police. What I did was stupid and I apologize for that."

Hamilton struggled at Monaco last year, with the Mercedes star managing just a modest P8. The seven-time champion languished in midfield due to poor qualifying and was prevented from progressing by the Alpines.

He made contact with Esteban Ocon in Ste Dévote while Fernando Alonso withheld any possible accusations of delay. This happened as the German manufacturer lacked pace against the leaders with their W13 machine.

Mercedes eventually overcame its problems with Hamilton in search of wins before the end of last season. The Silver Arrows seem more optimistic about the 2023 W14 model, as Hamilton and George Russell praised it during demo rides last week.

Hamilton said he was "comfortable" in the car, months after complaining of back pain at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix due to porpoising.
