An Indian lottery winner has been inundated with requests for financial aid who he says he now regrets winning the prize money.

Anoop is a car driver from the southern state of Kerala. Earlier in September, he won 250m rupees (£2.9m) in the state government lottery.

However, a week later, he shared a video asking strangers to stop harassing him and his family.

He said, "I wish I hadn't won. Third prize might have been better."

In the video, Anoop says he is trying to move house to escape the massive public attention.

He made national headlines when he won the prize, which was the highest ever offered in the state for a lottery.
