A man has been arrested after he launched a terrifying assault on a woman using a dead seagull to beat her after kicking her dog and flashing her.

The 31-year-old suffered a bizarre series of attacks while walking her dog by a local lake with two friends in Oejendorfer See, Hamburg, Germany.

The 41-year-old allegedly appeared out of nowhere on the morning of Tuesday August 23 and began to insult the three people before kicking his beloved dog.

As the woman pulled out her cell phone to call the police, he pulled down his pants to flash her before bizarrely grabbing a dead seagull from the ground and starting to beat her with it.

Several police cars arrived at the scene soon after, but the man fled trying to escape across the lake.

But officers were able to use a fire engine motorboat and, with a police helicopter, they were able to catch up with the suspect in the middle of the lake.

Two officers dove into the water to arrest him.
