Conflict is an inevitable and necessary part of a relationship. Where things get complicated is when the conflict is not managed in a healthy, respectful and effective way.

And it happens more often than many of us would like.

Partners in conflict may resort to criticism and attack the character of the other during the conflict, rather than using effective and healthy communication to get to the bottom of the cause of the problem in the relationship.
