The 24-year-old has made 109 appearances for the club and scored over 3,700 runs across all formats.

"He works extremely hard," performance manager Alan Coleman told the club's website.

"He is a very important element at our side. We are delighted to have retained his services for the future."

The southpaw Holden came through the youth ranks of Middlesex before signing his first professional contract with the club aged 18.

< p class="" data-reactid=".1m2xyyz10fy.0.0 .0.1.$paragraph-6">He made his professional debut in red and white ball cricket while on loan at Nort hamptonshire in 2017-18.

During his Middlesex career he scored hundreds in each of the three formats, making him one of four players to achieve the feat for the county.

"I am absolutely delighted - Middlesex is my home," Holden said.

"I pledge to give my all over the next three years alongside my teammates, to help bring the club back to where it belongs."
