Mum Yula Patoku poses with Banksy artwork saluting her native Ukraine's defiance of the bullying Russian state.

The 42-year-old says she and her six-year-old daughter Zlata spoke to the British artist as he painted a picture of a small child throwing a man into a martial arts fight .

Yula told the Daily Mirror: "I had a chat with Banksy, not knowing who he was, while he was creating this piece of art and when he spoke to my daughter she told him she loved it.

"She told Banksy she thought it was like a child saving her father from being attacked by a monster - kind of like Ukraine saving the world from something bad, like Russia .

"The image is of Ukraine defeating Russia, but it may be different from the eyes of a child. Others see young Ukraine defeating the evil terrorism of old Russia. »

Banksy is believed to have traveled to Borodianka in the Kyiv region to create the scene in October.

He worked on a broken wall in a city destroyed months before by artillery and fighter jet strikes by Vladimir Putin's invading army.

Yula's sister, Oksana Koronik, 47, married with two children, said: "This place has been devastated by these monsters. Who would do such a thing?

"I love this artwork.

"For me, it's young and powerful, defiant Ukraine fighting and winning against the monster of Russia - or President Zelensky defeating Putin in a fight.

"It will be there forever as a reminder of how we stood up to Putin."

The room is now so important to locals that authorities have erected a plastic covering around...
