New York Game Awards Announce Nominees for 2023

The New York Video Game Critics Circle today announced the nominees for its 2023 Game Awards. The NYVGCC previously announced that the awards would once again be held in person. The last two ceremonies were held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several familiar titles are making it onto the major awards lists, as they did in late 2022: Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, Neon White. There are a few games missing from the list. Stray, one of the most popular indie titles of 2022, is absent from any list of nominees, while Tunic is only nominated as a children's game. However, some deep cuts have been recognized here, such as Trombone Champ.
