70-year-old man arrested for raping teenage girl in Zamfara
A 70-year-old man, four women and 20 children, was arrested by the Zamfara State Anti-Rogue Committee for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.
Walking the suspect on Friday, committee chairman Bello Bakyasuwa said the suspect confessed to raping the teenager twice.
Bakyasuwa said the suspect was arrested by the committee members as he tried to rape the girl for the third time along Yan Mangwarori area in Gusau city last Thursday.
>Bakyasuwa said, "The rapist was arrested following a report from his family members who were unhappy with what he was doing with the little girls in his marital home.
"He was followed and arrested as he was about to carry out his infamous act."
The president said he would not reveal the names of the rapist and the girl who was raped for certain reasons.
He explained, however, that the names would be revealed as soon as the alleged rapist was brought to justice.
“I will not release the names of the suspect and the girl for certain reasons, but the man will be brought before the court by the competent authority where his name and that of the girl must be mentioned,” said Bakyasuwa .
The president said he would hand over the suspect to the proper authority for the necessary action to be taken.
In an interview with reporters, the 70-year-old said he has four wives and twenty children.
He confessed that he had channel acquaintance with the teenager twice at different times in his house.
He said he persuaded the girl with N100 for the first time and also gave her N200 for the second time.
He was denounced by his wives who informed the anti-thugs committee which led to his arrest.
He denied defiling the girl, however, pointing out that his manhood was functional.
He explained that he only used his finger to get satisfaction.
"I used my fingers to touch his femininity and get satisfaction, but I never used my manhood because of the non-erection," he said.
He maintained that even the doctors had confirmed that his reproductive organ was no longer working.
