PDP mocks APC over delay in presidential campaigns
The PDP's Presidential Campaign Council on Tuesday denounced the delay of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaigns despite its "claims of right and tenure".
He however praised his presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for launching his campaign immediately after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced its opening last month.
Spokesman for the PDP's Presidential Campaign Management Committee, Senator Dino Melaye, said that "Atiku's broad acceptability also becomes evident, indisputable and unassailable" due to the early start of the campaigns.< /p>
"Since the starting gun was given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the party's presidential flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, His Excellency, Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP have taken a long in advance, while Ahmed Bola and the APC are always rehearsing, in the false and pretentious idea of the right and the power of office.
Melaye explained that "Certainly, Atiku has not only launched its campaign, it has moved from South to North and from North to South in the space of 2 weeks, attracting large and enthusiastic supporters and selling his agenda to Nigerians.
According to Melaye, “Atiku does not carry the baggage of an ethnic champion. He does not claim any rights, neither among his relatives, nor on the national scene. NIGERIA in Kaduna, which a mischievous heap tried in vain to overthrow”.
Melaye further said, "In Kaduna, the clay-footed opponents of the PDP and its standard bearers have erected all obstacles, including the refusal to use the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
"When all the barriers failed, they physically deployed thugs to invade Ranchers Bees Stadium, but it was too late to use ignorant kids to stop a moving train.", he explains.< /p>
He further pointed out, "In Benin, the capital of Edo State, a key south-south state, Atiku felt at home and was well received. Excitement filled the atmosphere.< /p>
“He struck a chord with the people. Atiku is a lover of culture, education and development. He gave hope to the youth, assuring them of his desire to see the youth of Nigeria become global citizens through the right education, innovation and enterprise.
“It was an inspiration from the APC administrator who shut down universities for about 9 months. a life of perpetual subsistence where their main diet will be cassava and agbado.”
The presidential campaign management committee of the PDP spokesperson explained that the exits in Uyo, Kaduna and Benin are important, because the PDP has not only designed a campaign plan, the Party is putting it implemented.
However, he says, "while Tinubu and his confused group are still rehearsing their takeoff. Nothing has changed at APC. This is the same way the APC National Executive Committee was recently organized .
"It's the same way a presidential convention was badly dragged into the final minutes of extended time. It's the same way a running mate's choice was turned into rocket science . At the pace the APC is going, it may ask that its members be allowed to vote a week after the end of the general election!" Melaye pointed out.
According to him, "In the face of these failures, it is ridiculous for APC and Tinubu to devise an action plan and tag it 'Renewed Hope'.
"It is nothing but renewed despair. As the Holy Bible teaches, how can a man hope for what is seen? Romans 8:24b states, "Now the hope that sees itself is no hope. For who hopes what he sees?" The same hope dressed in the garb of change in 2015, is the same hope that is now peddled under a new mantra of renewal.
