Wronged ex-activists swear to open Pandora's boxes on fake activist camps, Amnesty fraud

Hundreds of former activists under the second phase of the amnesty program have decided to support the ongoing verification exercise undertaken by the administration led by Major General Barry Ndiomu of the amnesty program Presidential (PAP).

The group is also committed to exposing the existence of bogus militant camps used to divert amnesty funds for the program by certain individuals.

DAILY POST, has gathered that ex-militants under the second phase of the program have said they are not against the ongoing verification exercise by Acting Administrator Major General Barry Ndiomu (rtd), however, they want the authorities to take a look at the cause of the ongoing conflict between the militant ex-leaders and the amnesty office.

The group said the major problem is the existence of a fraudulent system in which fake militant camps are formed with the hoarding of names.

Executive Members of the Phase Two Presidential Amnesty Beneficiaries―led by President Paul Johnson, Vice President Taye Amaebimo, Secretary Passman Akpos, and Publicity Secretary Gift Agamene― in a letter to the Acting Administrator of the PAP, stressed that they had no problem with the ongoing verification as long as it would bring the desired result.

"But with the direction this is taking, it will cause more havoc than good,"

They also claimed that these fake militant camps include Camp Ingia-Wuru, IceLand, NDFF, Oran, Camp Egberi, Alamini Freedom Fighter 120, Camp Fouchef, Camp Kalawo, Usigbe, Aguda, Camp BFF, Tobi Camp, Osuo Camp, Benuwolo Camp, Ezekiel Camp, Kenneth Opusi gi, Ateke Tom, TK Press, Evan Camp, Bayloaf, Perekeme Evan Camp 2, Ebi Camp and K Group.

“This and much more is evidence,” they say, of camps formed to siphon money from the program, “causing pain and derailing the direction of the program.”

They also said they were ready to support the process, saying verification will bring the desired outcome, calling on Acting Administrator Major General Ndiomu to conduct a review of the list of 6,166 beneficiaries as part of the second phase with only 5,186 paid since the start, which required special sharing among ex-activists who were not covered by the Amnesty payment.

According to them: “They say that one point in time saves nine. And as the initiators of the program, we know what went wrong and what should be done to clean up the system if we are allowed to. Since the surrender of arms and ammunition to the Federal Government by ex-militants of the second phase under the administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in 2009, our infantrymen have never received fair treatment from the former interim administrators of the PAP . »

They added: "It is recorded that 6,166 slots were allocated in the second phase in Bayelsa and Delta States. At the start of the program, payments were made in bulk to the accounts of the leaders of each camp Former special adviser to the president, Timi Alaibe ordered the chief accountant to draft a memo ordering the director of Skye Bank, now Polaris, to pay the 6,166 ex-militants N263,539 million and N81,329 million from naira to Bayelsa and Delta respectively.

"The original number of ex-activists who were eligible for benefits was 6,166, but only 5,186 have been paid since the start of this program to date. This implies that less money is going into ex-agitator scholarship to serve more people who are captured but never received their entitlement due to said fraud What we do as leaders the title that comes will be shared among more people, like sharing a time slot with two or more people, so everyone knows."

They further noted, "When Kingsley Kuku took over the leadership of the program, we were advised to come up with names of local siblings who have the ability to attend educational programs in order to benefit from the program on the educational plan.Names were submitted and bank accounts opened for people we did not know, they planned to pay the regular 65,000 naira into the account of these people which was originally for educational purposes.< /p>

“Based on the above, we, the leaders of the various camps, were now facing problems of incomplete payments due to 5,186 ex-militants [paid] instead of 6,166 and the problem of entry of more people into the system from the teacher training angle, who are claiming entitlement to the regular monthly allowances of N65,000.

"On that note, there are people who are in possession of documents related to the presidential amnesty program, like ID cards, amnesty certificate who want to be verified. With the way things happen, these people will be verified because they do indeed have a document, then submit an account number which will be paid by the program. The funds will be diverted from the right person to the wrong person, thus causing mo...
