Aisha Buhari to lead APC women's campaign team, Osinbajo's wife not on list

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formed the women's wing of its presidential campaign with Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, as grand godmother.

Remi Tinubu, wife of the party's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and Nana Shettima, wife of vice-presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, will serve as chairman and co-chairman.

Asabe Villita, a former member of the Borno State House of Representatives, has been appointed as the team's national coordinator with Lauretta Onochie, President Muhammadu Buhari's controversial aide, as deputy.

However, Dolapo Osinbajo, the wife of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, is conspicuously absent from the campaign list released by Rinsola Abiola in Abuja on Saturday.

PREMIUM TIMES had reported the exclusion of Mr. Osinbajo from the list of the APC Presidential Campaign Council published by the APC a week ago.

Mr. Osinbajo lost the APC presidential primaries to his former boss, Mr. Tinubu, at the convention in June. While other aspirants were drafted into the campaign, the vice president was kicked out of the campaign board.

He served as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State under Mr Tinubu. The latter also reportedly appointed Mr. Osinbajo as vice-president in 2015.

To demystify speculation about a breakup between MM. Tinubu and Osinbajo, the ruling party had claimed in a statement that President Muhammadu Buhari had requested the exclusion of his deputy and Federation government secretary Boss Mustapha to allow them to focus on governance. /p>

Mr. Buhari is the head of the council.
