Alejandra Alonso Rojas RTW Spring 2023

"The collection is about movement, it's about her - her body, she shapes her curves Alejandra Alonso Rojas said ahead of her slow-moving, salon-style spring fashion show held at the Verōnika restaurant in the Fotografiska museum.

"I worked with Philippine de Richemont, who is a painter in Paris, whom I met and who ordered me a painting for my house, then we started talking about a beautiful painting. I gave him the color scheme and we created this camouflage of women - they dance, they intertwine. I really thought, for this season, of the woman as my blank canvas, because she thought the same of the painting,” the designer added of the season's print, which was splashed on silky briefs and an opening corset, which was paired with rainbow-colored tiered fringe and a crocheted skirt.

Alonso Rojas translated Richemont's workmanship and cheerful palette into the range with characteristic gradients on a extension of its sultry knit and silk fashions – each unique, but also an expected continuation of its vernacular. However, she also dipped her toes in new event wear with front styles and relaxed flats, featuring high-waisted cargo-pocket corset pants and a fringed trucker-style jacket.

The look: lively and sultry; signed Alonso Rojas.

Note quote: "I was inspired by the Pina Bausch, some dance photos from the years 90s by Richard Avedon and how before the models really moved and connected with each other, I wanted to have that spirit in the collection,” Alonso Rojas said of the collection, also seen through his movement-focused lookbook.

Key pieces: Updated takes on the signature hook, like her show opening dress mixed camo print and following cropped crossover tank top and floor length skirt; a one-shoulder red cable-knit fringe top with loose silk pants; a number of figure-hugging dresses in delicate knit or silk versions with subtle crystal embellishments and hand-washed dip dyes; a bright pink button-up knit cardigan dress; cute strapless corsets and high waist corset pants with cargo pocket.

The Takeaway: Alonso Rojas' signature craftsmanship continued to shine in the spring.
