Bauchi man allegedly killed friend for beer
Bauchi State Police Command announced they arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly stabbing a 30-year-old man to death for refusing to buy him beer.
Command Police Public Relations Officer Ahmed Walil said the incident happened on November 17, 2022 at a beer bar in Bagel Village of Dass LGA in Bauchi State .
“The command arrested Ajasco, male (29), from Kafin Tafawa Bauchi on Monday on November 17, 2022, following information available to the command on his active involvement in a homicide case.
"A quiet investigation by the detectives attached to the command revealed that on November 16, 2022 at around 11:00 p.m., the suspect (Monday) went to a beer bar in the Bagel village of Dass LGA where he met Abdulrazak Ibrahim, a man (30) who is now deceased, and others drinking beer at a beer bar in the village of Bagel.
"He (the suspect) asked the said (deceased) Abdulrazak to buy him a beer to drink. In response, the deceased refused to do so.
"This development sparked a small altercation between them which upset the suspect. After a while, they decided to leave the brewery and go home while the victim left before them.
"The deceased's friend heard his friend scream from afar. Arriving at the scene, he found his friend lying in a pool of blood as the suspect stood near the victim holding a sharp animal horn He also threatened to stab the victim's friend when he asked the suspect why he had done so.
"Investigation into the incident also revealed that the suspect dragged and attacked the victim in the neck with a sharp object suspected to be an animal horn.
"As a result, he was seriously injured and was quickly transported to Dass General Hospital, but was certified dead by the doctor," he said.
He said the case would be taken to court for prosecution when the investigation is completed.
