Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 8 suspected cattle rustlers and armored cable thieves in the state.

The disclosure was made by Commander, NSCDC, Bauchi, James Ameh, during the parade of suspects Tuesday at Headquarters explaining that two cattle were recovered from the suspects.

The commander said the cattle rustling suspects had escaped arrest twice before, explaining that this time they were out of luck.

According to him, on September 2, when they took the cattle stolen from Zungur Galambi village of Bauchi local government area on July 22, 2022, and the other on August 15, 2022, in Bula village - Lusa from Liman Katagum, in Bauchi LGA at Soro market for sale, they were arrested by his staff.

He added that they were arrested on the basis of credible intelligence reports that they were at the market, trading in the buying and selling of livestock.

The NSCDC boss revealed the identities of the suspects as; Abdullahi Sale, 35, Abdullahi Muhammad, 39, also known as Police, Salisu Hassan, 28, and their accomplice, Sadiq Abubakar, 35, who acted as an intermediary in receiving the stolen cattle.

James Ameh also said that after questioning they confessed to carrying out the crime along with two others who are now at large, adding that the Corps would make every effort to reduce not only the activities of cattle rustlers, but other criminal activity in the state.

According to him, "Those who are found defaulting will face the wrath of the law. They will not be released. Some of them have fled, but we are on them and we must arrest them and bring them to to book and they will all face prosecution."

One of the owners of the stolen cattle, Malam Ladan Sa'idu, was overjoyed after seeing his cattle at Corps headquarters, praising the NSCDC for a job well done and praying for God's protection throughout. staff.
