Buhari salutes Adenuga @70

Chairman, Major Muhammadu Buhari (Retired), congratulated Globacom Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr on his 70th birthday.

The President, in a statement by his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Friday, hailed the entrepreneur, "whose charity and goodwill continue to inspire, attracting local and global recognitions, including three national accolades, OON, CON and GCON.”

Buhari affirmed the impact of Adenuga's visionary leadership on the Nigerian economy, setting the tone for investments in oil and gas, telecommunications, real estate, banking, construction and the hotel industry.

He also praised him for his remarkable presence in supporting entertainment, sports and African culture, inside and outside the country.

The president commended the philanthropist for his courage, humility and dedication to nation building.

He also commended him for always putting the interest of the nation first, and the welfare of the people, ensuring that all his businesses and investments uphold the values empathy, appreciation, trust and respect.< /p>

According to the President, the numerous national and global awards are well deserved, including the highest individual honor for a private citizen in Nigeria, GCON, and many others of high profile such as "The Companion of the Star of Ghana" of Ghana.

Adenuga was also honored with the rank of "Commander of the Legion of Honor" by the French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The President prayed that Adenuga, who is Otunba Apesin from Ijebu Country, will continue to grow in health, strength and good spirit.
