Candidates "dressing in youthful clothes" do not know the problem of Nigeria - Imumolen

The Accord's presidential candidate, Professor Christopher Imumolen, says his youthful status makes him eminently qualified to address the many and varied issues facing Nigeria's youthful population.

Imumolen, who at 39 is the youngest of 18 candidates vying for the seat of President of Nigeria in next February's presidential election, says no one can know better the psychology and unique idiosyncrasies of youth than a youth.

He said he was not amused by attempts by some of his fellow presidential candidates to give the impression that they are young people when in fact they are not, saying that it would be a colossal mistake on the part of young people themselves to be led to endorse such candidates.

“The demand by the younger segment of the population for a president of youth extraction has likely led some people to migrate to other political parties and attempt to dress as young people,” said Imumolen, during a recent interview in Lagos. .

"But we all know that once a person passes a certain age range, they can no longer be called young.

“So, strictly following this analogy, I can unabashedly say that I am the only authentic young person to stand for the presidential elections of 2023. I must state this categorically in order to raise awareness among young people in this regard.

"Now, beyond this clarification, I want to let young people know that I represent their voice, that I am the one who knows their problems and therefore naturally positioned to solve them.

"They need to know that this is a unique opportunity for them to make a bold statement about the much-sought paradigm shift in this country's power equation.

"I want them to know that, being in the most active and important segment of the population, they have the assets to wrest power from the older generation who has offered nothing to them for decades.

“I want them to be analytical, lucid in their choices. They should not be moved by the gibberish rhetoric of some candidates who try in vain not only to pass themselves off as young people, but to claim knowledge of their deepest desires and aspirations.

"I, Professor Christopher Imumolen, offer a future to young people. A future where they will be valued, where their talents, intelligence, abilities, spirit of innovation and ingenuity are positively engaged and used for their good. and that of the country.

“I make them a solemn promise. No hard-working and progressive young Nigerian will be left behind and neglected if I win his term to become the next President of the country,” he added.
