Community health practitioners elect new leaders in Zamfara

The National Association of Community Health Practitioners, NACHPN, Zamfara State Chapter, has elected new officers to oversee the affairs of the association for the next three years.

DAILY POST reports that the election was held in Gusau, the state capital.

Comrade Murtala Mohammed became the new president by defeating comrade Murtala Jangebe, while Lawal Bello became the new secretary.

Others are Comrade Sanusi Mohammed, emerging as Treasurer without opposition, while Musa Mohammed, now becomes Publicity Secretary.

The positions of Vice President, Treasurer, Financial Secretary and Auditor were unopposed.

Speaking after the election, Electoral Chairman Comrade Aminu Yusuf Gidado described the exercise as free, fair and credible.

Gidado said the election was only conducted for the posts of secretary, publicity secretary and president, with the others unopposed.

The outgoing president of the association, Comrade Sarkin Noma Sa'adu demanded unity and support from the members for the new leaders to enable them to discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected president, Comrade Murtala Mohammed, hailed the efforts of the electoral committee and pledged to accompany every member of the association for the development of the state and the union.
