EFCC arrests 40 suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has again arrested suspected internet fraudsters in Lagos.

Media Officer Wilson Uwujaren announced the operation in a statement on Tuesday.

The suspects were apprehended at different locations along the Lekki-Epe highway.

These are Oyedokun Opeyemi Abdulrazaq, Olowofela Temidayo, Moses Ossai, Dada Samuel Abiodun, Francis Victor Oluwatobi, Ayobami Akanji, Osun Gbenga, Doroye Olumide Joseph, Ajayi Oluwaseyi Emmanuel, Olalekan Olaniyi Akonji, Oluwadare Samuel Olawale, Oloyede Olakunle.

Ajayi Femi, Adewara Oluwadamilola, Anthony Okun, Olusegun Ibukunoluwa, Boluwatife Adewale, Jerry Agoh, Oluseye Ayomipo, Anthony Adedolapo Dada, John Adamso Tobi, Asagba James Oluwaseun, Okon Ayomide Cornelius, Omokaro Ailele Jeffery, Ideh Rukeme Oghenetega.

Others include Oluwasina Temitope, Kareem Hassan, Fagbemiro Ayomide, Olaegbe Hammed, Ejede Victor, Allen Abimbola, Peter Nwaneri, Egbe David Morgan, Abu Mathew, Anjola Emmanuel, Olashile Gabriel, Omobolaji Solomon, Allen Ayoola, Odenike Sodiq, and Confidence Atipko.

Most of them were picked in the Awoyaya and Oral Estate area on August 29 and September 1, 2022.

They are accused of alleged involvement in computer fraud, identity theft and obtaining money under false pretenses.

The EFCC said it took action after the commission received credible intelligence.

Laptops, mobile devices containing false documents and several vehicles were recovered during the raids.

Uwujaren added that all suspects will soon be brought to justice.
