EPL: Cristiano Ronaldo attacked for leaving Old Trafford

Manchester United insider Neil Custis has slammed Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese left Old Trafford at half-time in their pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Custis believes Ronaldo set a bad example by deciding to leave Old Trafford before the end of the game.

Ronaldo left Old Trafford at half-time in their friendly against Rayo Vallecano, but Manchester United said there were no problems with his action.

The Portugal captain, who has reportedly declared his intention to leave Old Trafford this summer in search of Champions League football this season, made his first pre-season appearance on Sunday.

But, after playing 45 minutes, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was then replaced by young striker Amad Diallo and the superstar didn't wait for the game to end.

"It's not a good idea to leave early when you've been involved in the team.

"It's different if you're in the stands and not involved. You'd expect someone who played in the game to be in the locker room at the end to listen to thoughts from the manager.

"Also a lot of people were there to see him and he wasn't even involved in the applause from the fans after the final whistle," Cutis told SunSport
