EPL: Graeme Souness excludes Man Utd and Chelsea from Top 4 this season

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness backed Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur to finish in the top four positions this season.

Souness also said Chelsea were "in danger" of finishing in the top four after losing their last two Premier League games.

While Arsenal and Man City continue to compete for top spot, Tottenham and Liverpool currently sit fourth and eighth respectively with Manchester United in fifth and Chelsea in seventh at the moment.

However, Souness believes Liverpool, along with Tottenham and Arsenal, will finish in the top four as he expects Man City to defend their title.

"I think both [Liverpool and Tottenham] will be in the top four," Souness told talkSPORT.

"I think Chelsea are in danger, a lot depends on what they do in the transfer window. Arsenal look convincing at the moment, they look like a very good team. But I think everything the world is playing for second place this season [apart from Man City who are expected to finish first].

"So that's my top four prediction. Tottenham will continue to win games the way they play. Antonio Conte did remarkably well to place them fourth last season.

"He is a very experienced manager who knows what he is doing. If he takes the route of pragmatism, you have to believe in him, that would be my message to the Tottenham fans.

"You've got a guy there who knows what he's doing. I think he's the right man for the job and will do well at Spurs."
