EPL: He DMed me after my comments, he can't take criticism - Ferdinand on the Arsenal star
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has revealed Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes sent him a private message after criticizing the Brazilian's style of play.
Ferdinand had blamed Magalhaes for being error-prone in the 2022/2023 campaign which didn't sit well with the Arsenal player, who DMed the former England international in defence.
“I said that last year and he [Gabriel] didn’t like it, he private messaged me. It's an important thing, for me, with today's players, they can't take criticism," Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.
"Today's players, not all of them, I've had quite a few players who went through their agents.
"I said, 'Don't ask your agent to talk to me. You ask your player to come and chat with me and I'll chat with him, no problem. Yes, he [Gabriel] came straight to me, which I respect. But at the same time, I don't think he saw what I was saying. »
Magalhaes played a crucial role in Arsenal's title fight last season.
