EPL: Tuchel speaks out on controversial VAR decision as Chelsea beat West Ham
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has insisted the video assistant referee (VAR) made the right call after a late Maxwell Cornet goal was ruled out in their 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday.
Michail Antonio put the visitors ahead in the 62nd minute.
But the Blues fought back with goals from Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz.
West Ham thought they had scored an added-time equalizer when Cornet fired into a nearly empty net, but VAR told referee Andrew Madley to consult the pitchside monitor, and he canceled the goal for a foul on Edouard Mendy.
On West Ham's disallowed goal, Tuchel said: "It was a clear foul on the goalkeeper.
"I had my doubts about the first one - but I won't comment; the last time I was punished with huge fines.
"You give your opinion, you will not be fined."
