Former NUC boss Okebukola to deliver convening lecture at Babcock University

Former National Universities Commission (NUC) Executive Secretary Peter Okebukola will deliver the 2023 Convening Lecture at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State on Tuesday.

Mr. Okebukola, Professor of Computer Science and Education, will speak on the topic: "From Hardware to Virtual Reality: Redefining the Nigerian University System".

A statement signed by the university's director of communications and marketing, Joshua Suleiman, noted that the graduation conference will be followed by a doctoral hood ceremony on July 26.

Other events

The 2023 graduation ceremonies, which began on July 23 with a program entitled: "Parent Advisory Forum Luncheon", were followed by an event organized by the university's alumni, on the theme: "Igniting Connections, Fueling Success".

According to the university, although Oyo House of Assembly Speaker Debo Ogundoyin and National Alumni Association Chairman Soji Tayo apologized for not attending the event, other prominent alumni including popular Nollywood actress Beverly Osu and Irvin Global and Investment Group CEO Uzonna Nwangwa attended the event.

Meanwhile, after Tuesday's convocation conference, the university said the doctoral graduation ceremony will be held on campus while the top graduating students from graduate and undergraduate programs in 2023 are also invited to join the vice-chancellor, other senior university officials in planting trees as part of the institution's efforts to save the environment.

The university has announced that the grand finale of convocation ceremonies, which will include graduation and awards, will take place on Sunday, July 30.
