Government approvals were given via WhatsApp messages during Ayade's time - Government Spokesperson Otu

Emmanuel Ogbeche, the spokesman for Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State, said the new administration had inherited a “dilapidated” state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the spokesperson said this when he spoke with members of the Union of Nigerian Journalists (NUJ), Cross State Council River, in Calabar on Monday.

Mr. Ogbeche stressed that the state was "in bad shape" and that it would take everyone's support and collaboration to put things back in order.

He, however, said Governor Otu was ready to change things.

According to him, “Otu inherited a dilapidated state. It was very dilapidated…There is no trace of anything; approvals were given on WhatsApp messages.
