Greenwich Summer Sounds can continue, says council after school complaint

A music festival in south-east London is allowed to go ahead, after a nearby music school complained about noise. p>
Greenwich Council has said that the International Management Group (IMG) can continue to host Greenwich Summer Sounds at the Old Royal Naval College.
This comes after the Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music. and Dance said it had to cancel a performance and reschedule open days in July.
The music school has filed an application with the board to reconsider the license.
Greenwich Summer Sounds takes place annually at Lower Ground Square from July 4 to 8, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
Phil Harding of the school, which is based in the King Charles building next to the square, told the licensing review subcommittee meeting that he had earlier requested that the festival be postponed for a week until the end of the academic session.
However, he said his request was denied and the school had to reschedule its open days, with continued noise disruptions from the festival. .
