Kano LP candidate guber debunks APC defection rumors

Kano State Labor Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate Bashir Bashir yesterday denied claims that he quit the party to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bashir, in a quick reaction to the speculation, described the rumors as wishful thinking by unscrupulous elements. In a telephone conversation with The Guardian in Kano, he said that no member of the party structure had abandoned the emerging force in Kano.

“Our attention has been drawn to the widespread rumor that I have defected to APC along with two known serial transactional light politicians.

“This statement is necessitated by the number of calls, texts and visits I have received this morning about the growing speculation and rumors being shared on social media platforms in the state to the effect that I'm going to pitch the tent with APC.< /p>

“This information is false, without foundation and without an iota of credibility. We do not leave certainty for uncertainty. The Labor Party and Obi-Datti are synonymous with all that is necessary to save our county from mercenaries failing policies and leadership under the contraption called APC and its Siamese twin the PDP,” he said.

He added, "This is to draw the attention of the general public, especially our supporters across Nigeria and in the Diaspora, to the fact that I am a titular member of the LP and the candidate for the position of party governor in Kano State.

“I believe in the ideals and standards of leadership of Obi and Datti and will continue to support them with all we have. spread these rumors. They are people with an uncommon ability not to be embarrassed by a scandal.

“The Labor Party has become a bandwagon, anything that gets in its way does so at its peril. The people have woken up, young men and women have taken their destiny into their own hands. The only thing between us and success is time, and by the Grace of the Almighty, this time is on our side. »

He stressed, however, that the party will gain in preparation for the mass rally and mobilization of the Obi-Datti movement in Kano, as well as further galvanizing support for their presidential candidate and his running mate in the state .
