The LAUTECH graduate returns his certificate and requests the reimbursement of fees

An Oludare Alaba, a graduate of agricultural extension and rural development at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, stormed his alma mater on Monday returning his certificate and demanding reimbursement fees paid to school until he graduated.

Oludare based his request on the fact that his certificate had brought him nothing in life such that he could not make ends meet.

He said his misery is compounded by his inability to feed his wife and children and meet the needs of his 90-year-old father.

Oludare, who has declared himself an award-winning artist, said he intends to use the refund to develop his talent and live a meaningful life.

Speaking to the Nigerian Tribune, Oludare said he became frustrated that he could not lead a good life despite being a graduate.

Noting that he is tempted to do money rituals, he sought the help of Nigerians to enable him to gain gainful employment, pursue his talent and make ends meet.

Oludare said: "I returned the certificate as it has no impact on my existence. I requested a refund of the fees paid to the school so that I could use it to develop my talent and live a meaningful life.

“I am an artist and even won the MTN Talent Hunt Award in my year of service in 2016.

"I have continued to struggle in life so the opportunities I have are to do money rituals but I don't want to do that. I want to be useful to Nigeria, to my family , to myself and to God.

"I am married with two children; my father is 90 years old but I still borrow money from him rather than give it to him. He told me that he took loans to finance my studies, that he had not repaid them and that he could no longer borrow money to give them to me.

"I ask for help in any form. I want to pursue my career in entertainment. I don't want to ruin my career."
