The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a suspected criminal who allegedly robbed residents of the Karu Local Government Area of ​​the state.

In a statement made available to Lafia reporters on Thursday, state police public relations officer DSP Ramhan Nansel said the suspect who was on the police watch list had been found and arrested in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, after the painstaking efforts of officers in the command.

The statement reads: "On 27/03/2023 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a complaint was filed to Karshi Division that an apartment located at Modupe Olusola Street, Papaladna, Karshi Development Area of ​​Karu LGA was robbed and household items, including a 2010 model Toyota matrix vehicle, were taken away by unknown persons.

"Upon receipt of the report, a discreet and diligent investigation was launched into the matter. The effort of the police officers bore fruit on 28/03/2023 when the main suspect; Gabriel Okpe 'M' 32 years old was tracked and arrested at Jikwoyi FCT, Abuja.

“The following items were recovered as exhibits: a Toyota matrix with registration number ABC 277 FV Abuja, a Honda Accord with registration number LC 699 EKY Lagos, two plasma televisions , an Elepaq generator, a pedestal fan, a laptop computer, a microwave oven, gas cylinder and burner, two Ipads, a Samsung smartphone and other items.”

Nansel said Police Commissioner Maiyaki Baba ordered the suspect to be brought to justice at the end of the investigation.
