Nigerian army redeploys top generals

The Nigerian military has announced the redeployment of senior generals.

The Chief of Staff of the Army (COAS), Lieutenant-General. Faruk Yahaya, has approved the redeployment of senior officers with the aim of ensuring the administrative and operational efficiency of the Nigerian Army (NA).

In the new appointment, Mr. Nwachukwu said the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Ali, relocates to the Northeast as the Theater Commander of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) of Joint Task Force Northeast.

He said the chief of training (army), Maj. Gen. Abdulsalam Ibrahim had been appointed GOC 3 Division as well as the Commander of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), while Maj. Gen. AS Chinade would move from the 2 seat division to the 82 seat division as GOC.
