Nigerian soldiers kill another bandit leader, Kachalla Gudau

The Kaduna state government said on Wednesday that Nigerian security forces killed a feared terrorist, Kachalla Gudau.

“Mr. Gudau, a feared bandit who commanded a large number of infantrymen who carried out kidnappings and murders in the local government areas of Chikun, Kachia and Kajuru, was among the bandits killed by the troops of the army. "The diligent exploitation of human intelligence networks corroborated other available intelligence, which confirmed that Gudau was indeed one of those cut down by the bullets of the brave troops as they repelled an attack carried out by the notorious bandit himself, ending his despicable reign of brutality and evil,” Mr. Aruwan added.

He said the terrorist's remains were recovered by members of his gang from Kankomi Forest where he bled to death.

Mr. Aruwan said credible sources reported that after his remains were recovered, a large number of bandits under his command buried him in a place believed to be around Kaku forest located in Kaso local government, Chikun.

Another terrorist who was killed in the encounter was "Rigimamme", one of Gudau's trusted lieutenants, Aruwan added.

He said that Mr. Gudau played a leading role in the kidnappings of students and expatriates in the councils of Kajuru, Chikun and Kachia.

He said the terrorist is known to have killed hostages who tried to resist the kidnapping.

Cattle rustling and drug lord

Mr. Aruwan said the late terrorism leader was also a notorious cattle rustler and drug trafficker.

"With the aggressive kinetic operations underway, Gudau cattle rustling - in Kajuru Local Government Area in particular - has started to decline, as 132 cattle were stolen in the third quarter of 2022 (the period spanning July, August and September).< /p>

"The heat of kinetic operations that deprived his bandits of freedom of action may have prompted the attack on the Kankomi military base, where he met his waterloo.

"Governor Nasir El-Rufai's determination to continue to contain terrorism and all forms of crime threatening the safety and security of citizens remains unwavering. The Kaduna State Government under his leadership will continue to support the security forces on all fronts.
