Oyo CP seeks peaceful campaigns, meets hunters, vigilantes

Oyo State Police Commissioner Adebowale Williams has met with hunter leaders, vigilantes and other stakeholders to seek support for peaceful campaigns ahead of the 2023 general elections.< /p>

This is contained in a statement Friday in Ibadan by Command Spokesman SP Adewale Osifeso.

William explained that the meeting was also aimed at fostering a better working relationship and agreeing on a common direction at the start of the election campaign.

The commissioner appreciated the security groups for their collaboration with the police and other security agencies which resulted in real achievements.

He urged them to constantly review their recruiting process by conducting adequate background checks on potential and existing members.

Aare Mogaji Ariori, who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders, congratulated the police commissioner for the meeting and promised to improve the existing relationship between them.
