A former governor of former Oyo State, Dr Omololu Olunloyo has described the administration of incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde as excellent, calling on state residents to elect him for a second term until Saturday's gubernatorial election.

Olunloyo, who made the call while appearing on a Splash FM show on Wednesday, said he had seen a lot of innovation with the Makinde administration that he would like to continue for another four years.< /p>

Continuing his adulation, Olunloyo described the Makinde administration as a first class that should be allowed to continue.

He called on Muslims and Christians in particular to vote Makinde in the interest of good governance.

Speaking further, he called on Makinde's co-candidates to include Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Accord leader Adebayo Adelabu to be patient and bide their time.< /p>

Olunloyo, in particular, has tasked Adelabu with teaming up with Makinde for Saturday's election and volunteering his time to fulfill his ambition to be governor.

“I have seen a lot of innovation; I am impressed with his administration (Makinde). I think his administration is excellent. His administration is first class and I pray that it continues.

"People of Oyo should vote for Makinde. Some other candidates should be patient. Those aggrieved should know that their grievance is not as important as the great things Makinde has done.

"I know Adegoke Adelabu even more than his son, Bayo Adelabu. Adelabu should join Makinde and bide his time.

“I am confident that when we polish him, the legacy he has in Adegoke Adelabu will come out. And he will come out as a bold politician who has a bold past and I think he should at some point become that he should become. Teslim Folarin should also be patient before becoming governor."

While praising Makinde for his progress in governance, Olunloyo said it was the opposite in politics.

He chastised Makinde for his recklessness in holding together the coalition on which he became governor, stressing that Makinde needed to polish his practice of politics.

“His policy is not as strong as his administration. He needs to fine-tune a few aspects of his policy.

Speaking further, Olunloyo described as a national disgrace the difficulties that have accompanied the naira overhaul policy initiated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

He said the level of starvation, hardship Nigerians suffered as a result of the naira overhaul policy was last recorded during the Nigeria General Strike of 1945.

Olunloyo said: "It's a national disgrace. A lot of people in my house starved to death. It got to a point where I had no more money to spend. I had to bring one of my sisters to give me money. Some of my daughters sent me money from USA and I couldn't access the money. This is my sister, Mutiat Ladoja, who came to my rescue.

"I was ashamed. I couldn't pay my gardener, driver. They left without food. It was a complete disgrace from the head of state, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele. There is a lot of nonsense in this country.

"I have never seen Nigeria plunged into such a mess since Michael Imoudu's general strike in 1945, when all transport was stopped, no shipping, no railway. It was a strike complete and total of Imoudu. This is bad management, bad governance.

Referring to the controversies surrounding the murder of former National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) President Alhaji Lateef Salako, commonly known as Eleweomo, Olunloyo claimed that the APC gubernatorial candidate in the State, Teslim Folarin hadn't killed Eleweomo.

Olunloyo said: "He (Folarin) was accused of killing Eleweomo. Eleweomo was killed in Olunloyo. I can swear by anything that Folarin did not kill Eleweomo. Folarin came and turned back . It was boys who killed Eleweomo and they beat him with sticks to kill him."
