Police arrest 'one chance' gang in Lagos

Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two members of a one-time gang known to operate along the Funsho Williams Avenue area in the 'State.

State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin said in a statement on Wednesday that the suspects, Usman Hussani and Ebuka Ukechukwu, were arrested following a distress call received from a victim who was robbed of his phone and other valuables.

He said: "Officers attached to Surulere Division have arrested two members of a once-in-a-lifetime gang known to have operated along Funsho Williams Avenue.

"The suspects, Usman Hussani, 21, and Ebuka Ukechukwu, 25, were arrested following a distress call received from a victim shortly after she was dispossessed his phone and other valuables.

"The suspects recovered two cell phones, two SIM cards, a Sterling Bank ATM card, a UBA checkbook belonging to Ugochukwu (other names withheld) and a brand new tricycle with license plate license plate LSD 360 QN used by the gang.

"The suspects will be brought to justice once the investigations are completed.

"State Police Commissioner Abiodun Alabi hereby encourages residents of the state to always remain vigilant, especially when boarding public vehicles."< /p>
