Presidential election: Candidate for Adamawa APC government, Binani loses unity of vote to Atiku
The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Adamawa State, Senator Aishatu Binani, failed to deliver her voting unit for her party's presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during the elections that have just ended.
Senator Binani and First Lady Aishat Buhari's younger brother, Modi Halilu, voted at the same polling station in Yola, 006, Mbamoi district, but lost to the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of people (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
According to the declared result of unity by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), while the PDP secured 129 votes to win, the APC trailed with 101 votes.
Binani will contest the state gubernatorial election against Adamawa State incumbent governor Ahmadu Fintiri on March 6 in the state gubernatorial election.
Senator Aishatu Binani (Adamawa Central), who won the governorship of Adamawa State from the APC, had recently advised Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to prepare his handover note as his government will expire soon .
