PRP coming with a clean state – Kola Abiola

The People's Redemption Party presidential candidate, Kola Abiola, promised Nigerians on Sunday that he would not bring the baggage of former administrations and politicians recycled into governance once elected.

Abiola, the heir to the late democracy icon and acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 election, MKO Abiola, gave the assurance during his appearance for the Arise TV Presidential Debate at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

While describing himself as a breath of fresh air with no history of holding public office in Nigeria, Abiola said he was the best man for the job.

He said, "We come to the federal level with a clean slate because we don't carry the baggage of any administration or party. We want to use it to transform Nigeria and fight for the people.< /p>

“I have never run for governor, state president, or local government council. What I'm trying to make is that the leaders over the years have tried so many retrained and different people each time. Leaders stay in a group or skip groups.

"But for the first time, we have a candidate here in the PRP who has not been there or any party at all. Let's try a new hand to solve the Nigeria problem. Now security is an issue.

"We represent what it means to be fresh, especially what it takes to ensure that those who follow us have the opportunity to decide their own destiny in a united Nigeria."
